Industrial Landscape and Urban Exploration Portfolio
Location: Prestolite, Leyland
Date: September 2007

This was one of the few remaining buildings in Leyland from the days when it was the home of Leyland Motors, one of the largest truck builders in the world. It all went wrong when it got bought by the Dutch DAF company, who went bust in the late 80's, and the various factories in the town got split up, sold off, and eventually closed. While trucks are still assembled in the town, the press shops and foundries are gone, with all the parts made elsewhere.
