Portfolio 13

Location: Huncoat Power Station, Burnley
Date: January 2009
Keep Out
The strange graffiti and brutalist 1950’s architecture of this place brought to mind something from Eastern Europe. I deliberately composed the photo with the barbed wire in the foreground to add to the oppressive / apocalyptic atmosphere, although in actual fact, the fence below it had been torn down. Keep out? I don’t think so.

By Freda Rockliffe: I saw your presentation at York Camera Club this evening 20/Jan 2022. We chatted at the start and you may recall that I said, I grew up in Bolton and my grandma worked at the Beehive mill for many years.
I would love a print if they are for sale
Thanks
