The water wheel pit - this was BIG! It was also fairly wide, the lens seems to have distorted it. This bit of the building was right next to the mill lodge, I suspect some kind of sluice would have diverted water through this. Early industry sometimes had water and steam power, so it would be interesting to know how long this was used for.
