"Conveyers used to take the material from the pans to the potchers. The Hemp or Flax had to be pitch forked onto the conveyers, a soul destroying, dirty, smelly and physically demanding job. A more modern conveyer and shaker system was installed but due to its unreliability the old conveyers were retained and used far more often than most would have liked."
