By David McKiernan: I used to visit Vernon Carus a lot as a field engineer. I remember the people being really friendly. The security guards were always very welcoming. The original machine from the steam days was still running in the year 2000, when I moved away. Pretty impressive that. No modern machine could ever last that long. My aunt worked there at one point too.
