Dunaskin Brickworks 8

I would imagine that the engine may have come from the building on the left, this was once a power station. Built in 1917 to supply electricity to the Royal Flying Corps' Aerial Gunnery School at Loch Doon which was never completed, it remained in operation until 1956 and supplied electricity to the works.

By John J Muirhead: I worked as a stoker in the building in question for 2 years prior to a 5 year apprenticeship in the engineering workshops.
I worked on many occasions during my apprenticeship in the building and do not recall ever seeing this piece of equipment
